8 page fashion editorial inspired by a scene from the movie “Layer Cake”

8 page fashion spread inspired by Mark Shaw’s Vanity Fair shoot.

While this winter has been a mild one, I love a good heated studio where I can play with the lighting.

A few selects from a family portrait session shot last Fall. Props came in very handle that day.

Paying around with VSCO film (from Visual Supply Co.) on some photos I took a while back on a roadtrip with Lindsey.

Commissioned by Hatsuhana Sushi Restaurant (‘Hastu‘ meaning first & ‘Hana‘ meaning flower in Japanese) I set out to capture the fresh feeling of flowers with the goal of printing the photos on canvas and mounting on the restaurant walls. Meet Loron, the white polar bear, & Bernard, the brown bear. These ornaments were made by Lindsey Balbierz and are available for purchase from her Etsy store – That’s Be Fine.  The prop styling for these photos were concise and simple while the lighting was a little more complex. A beauty dish was used to bring out the reflective material while a gridded spot light was strategically placed to pull out soft fabric details.
